“10 Speakers -> 10 Presentations -> 360 Seconds Each”

The Washington D.C. area is known for its density of talented professionals in the field of Digital Forensics and Incident Response, and SANS is bringing 10 top industry experts to you for the first SANS360: DFIR Lightning Talk.

In one hour these Digital Forensics and Incident Response experts will discuss the coolest techniques and solutions they have discovered in 2011. If you have never been to a lightning talk it is an eye opening experience. Each speaker has 360 seconds (6 minutes) to deliver their message. This format allows SANS to present 10 experts within one hour, instead of the standard one presenter per hour. The compressed format gives you a clear and condensed message eliminating the fluff. If the topic isn’t engaging, a new topic is just 6 minutes away.

Can a significant point be made withing 360 seconds? The Gettysburg address can be read in about 180 seconds and Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream” speech is almost exactly 360 seconds. In many cases, the most important speeches are less than 360 seconds and have changed the world. This timed format ensures just enough time for each point, requiring a laser focus and forcing each presenter to discuss their most appealing and rich content to get their message heard.

The evening will begin with lightning talks for SANS CDI conference attendees and local practitioners who wish to attend. Following the talks, SANS will host a one hour networking happy hour where you can interact with the leading minds in digital forensics and incident response and follow up on unanswered questions.

SANS360 is open to all. Register early as we expect this high-demand event to fill up fast. Space is limited and registration is required!
