After a two week hiatus it’s that time of the week again: The time where we take a look at what local security bloggers have been up to. If you can’t get enough of the local security scene, check out our NovaInfosec Twits list for even more great security blogs and people to follow on Twitter. Also be sure to follow myself (@nathiet), @grecs, and @novainfosec on Twitter if you want to know more about what’s going on in the local security community during the week.

And without further ado … here are the top picks for this week.

#3 -WikiLeaks and the Infosec Political Reaction Lifecycle: With everyone talking about WikiLeaks and so much information being leaked by WikiLeaks, it was only natural to have a post about WikiLeaks. Our very own @grecs writes a life cycle in reaction to the recent WikiLeaks. Click here to read more about the cycle.

#2 -What is Information Security: New School Primer: Can Information Security be “threat-centric” or “vulnerability-centric?” The New School of information Security answers this question for us. Click here to read what they had to say and it’s a guarantee good read.

#1 -Cyber Defense Competitions: Still Good After Graduation: Would like to practice your craft experimenting with new techniques outside of your home lab environment?  Georgia Weidman looks at what happens at Cyber defense competitions “At a cyber defense competition anything goes, from social engineering to DDOS within the last hour of competition.” Click here to find out more about the happenings of Cyber Defense competitions.

Well, that’s all this week. Be sure to check back next week for more great blog posts from local security bloggers.
