Another week, another wave of great blog posts from local security bloggers in the DC, MD, and NoVA area.
If you can’t get enough of the local security scene, check out our NovaInfosec Twits list for even more great security blogs and people to follow on Twitter. Also be sure to follow us on Twitter @grecs if you want to know more about what’s going on in the local security community during the week.
And without further ado … here are the top picks for this week.
#3 – Virtualization is Great for Forensics: Do you hate virtualization? The DojoSec points out that virtualization is not “an enormous hindrance to digital investigations.” You can check out the full post for more information.
#2 – Control “Monitoring” is Not Threat Monitoring: “NIST doesn’t use “monitoring” to mean the sort of monitoring that would make a real difference” is point that Richard Bejtlich tries to get across in his post were he analysis the NIST report. Definitely read the post for yourself and let me know what you think.
#1 – Marcus’ Mailbag: Policy, Enforcement, and Monitoring: A look at what needs to be done to “defend the real network” by DojoSec. This is a great read, apart from the grammar. You really should check it out sooner rather than later.
Well, that’s all this week. Be sure to check back next week for more great blog posts from local security bloggers
