It’s that time of the week again: The time where we take a look at what local security bloggers have been up to. This week we recommend why use development standards, and how not to build a security programs post.

If you can’t get enough of the local security scene, check out our NovaInfosec Twits list for even more great security blogs and people to follow on Twitter. Also be sure to follow us on Twitter @grecs if you want to know more about what’s going on in the local security community during the week.

And without further ado … here are the top picks for this week.

#3 – The Cyberwar Plan : A Short summarization of the United States’ offensive cyber warfare capabilities.

#2 – Why use development standards?: We had two top post s this week without a doubt, Wadew’s post clearly shows why development standards are needed. See what happens when “Martin quickly implements the search API and not knowing any better, doesn’t escape the user provided inputs before sending them off to the search API”  here

#1 – How NOT To Build a Security Program: Ben Tomhave and Andy ITGuy battle it out on building a security program from the ground. Ben Tomhave primarily responds to Andy ITGuy’s building a security program from the ground post, and offers us an alternative solution. This is another interesting read, and shouldn’t be missed if your thinking of building security program. See who won the battle here

Well, that’s all this week. Be sure to check back next week for more great blog posts from local security bloggers.
