It’s that time of the week again: The time where we take a look at what local security bloggers have been up to.

If you can’t get enough of the local security scene, be sure to check out our NovaInfosec Twits list for even more great security blogs and people to follow on Twitter. Be sure to follow us on Twitter @grecs if you want to know more about what’s going on in the local security community during the week.

#3 – Analysis of a Forged Email: Have you been getting a lot of junk mail? Here is a post that educates readers about email forgery. It shows that emails aren’t secure because “the recipient wont know if it came from who it claims it came from or not”. The blog post also summarizes how to forge the From address of an email. An oldie but good technique that we all probably need to be reminded of once in a while. Authentication will have to be introduced in emails in order to stop spammers and phishers.

#2 – Metasploit JSP Shells:@carnal0wnage didn’t win best technical blog for nothing, a technical post on jsp reverse and jsp bind shell

#1 –Hacking Crazy Taxi: This post really demonstrates the hacker mentality of attacking a problem from a different angle. Thinking outside the box to hack crazy taxi in order to post his high score on the game and win a bet.

Well, that’s all this week. Be sure to check back next week for more great blog posts from local security bloggers.
