Our “NoVA Bloggers” post has a new home! Instead of going out on Mondays, it will now go out on Fridays—giving you some great reads to get you through the last unbearable hours before the sweet freedom of the weekend.

If you want even more great stuff from local security bloggers you can check out our NovaInfosec Twits list or follow us on Twitter @grecs.

#3 – The Cuckoo’s Egg: Written as a compliment to Georgetown University’s COSC-011 Introduction to Information Privacy course, we’ve found some interesting stuff on Ned Moran’s blog. Moran’s post “Newly Declassified Files Detail Massive FBI Data-Mining Project,” caught our eye this week because it contained an interesting picture with an accompanying question. Why not answer the question for yourself?

#2 – DojoSec TV: It seems that DojoSec is slowly taking over the security world. First, they get their own conference, and now they have their own TV station! (We kid, we kid.) In all seriousness, DojoSec TV is real, and it’s on a blog near you. The Saecur blog, to be exact. This week on DojoSec TV you can find Marcus’s interview with Matt Fisher about Web Application Security. You can check out the video here.

# 1 – Just Imagine: We were pleasantly surprised by the “Re-imagining Information Security Standards” post on the Verizon Business Security Blog this week. Opening the post with “Hollywood calls it “Re-imagining”.  The creative types call it “rebooting”.  We might settle for “re-thinking”. But since it seems to be all the rage these days to take a second look at a subject, I thought I’d apply the concept to one of our favorite topics, Information Security Standards,” we were hooked. The post doesn’t disappoint; with an in-depth look at how security standards can be re-imagined, this is one post you don’t want to miss.

Well, that’s all for this week. Be sure to check back next Friday for more great posts from local security bloggers!
