The upcoming ISSA – NoVA Chapter meetup on July 16th will address Topological Vulnerability Analysis and which tools are right for the job. Presenter John Williams will focus primarily on CAULDRON – a technology developed by George Mason University (funding primarily by Homeland Security) specifically for the correlation and visualization of vulnerabilities within an enterprise.
According to the abstract of the meetup, “[n]etwork security concerns are highly interdependent; each machine’s susceptibility to attack depends critically on vulnerabilities and connectivity across the network. To protect critical networks, management must understand not only individual system vulnerabilities, but also their interdependencies.”
