Grec’s Weekly Infosec Ramblings for 2009-04-26

As if two weren’t enough, more worms made their way through Twitter this weekend.

So, what happens if you create Twitter worms that cause problems for everyone? Employment, obviously.

If you’d like to try the “Twitter Wormer” route to getting a new job, here’s a great hacking tool you can try.

But as Marcus would tell us in his “Grapevine” post, don’t take it from us.

But we figure that it’s better than having our head in the clouds.

  • CLOUD COMPUTING SECURITY: There seems to be a trend of companies looking to secure the cloud. Guess that’s where the $$$ is. #
  • SECURITY IN THE CLOUD: Here’s the first one I came across focusing on some of Cisco’s offerings. http://tinyurl.com/ddrvy8 #
  • CLOUD COMPUTING: And here is more from IBM. http://tinyurl.com/d7ea3e #
  • SECURE CLOUD COMPUTING BEST PRACTICES: Been seeing a few of these. Here’s one. http://tinyurl.com/cnhytb #

And what’s even worse than having your head in the clouds? Thinking that completely secure software will be a reality sometime soon. (It won’t.)

So, instead of wasting your time on thinking about secure software (*chuckle*), why not attend some awesome security meetups like I did?

  • At @owaspdc watching Jon Rose’s talk. Just some background stuff fir now. #
  • Tool time at @owaspdc. #
  • Demo time of deblaze at @owaspdc. #
  • Doug now giving summary of owasp day. #

And speaking of OWASP, if you haven’t had a chance to check out AppSecDc, you should definitely do that when you have a chance.

  • RT @owaspdc OWASP US AppSec for 2009 will be in Wash DC at the DC Convention Center November 10-13th. Follow @AppSecDC for details and info. #
  • RT: @owaspdc: Apparently Twitter has outdone itself. Account collision on @AppSecDC, or hacking? Moved to @AppSecDC09 for details on conf. #
